My Walk in the Grace of God
A Poem by Pamela D. Rodgers
Grace is not something we earn. It is not something we deserve. It is the unmerited, undeserved, extravagant love of God poured out on sinners through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
This poem is a personal declaration of what it means to stand in that grace — justified, forgiven, promised eternity, and humbled by a love too great to fully comprehend.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God."
— Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV)

My Walk in the Grace of God
WHAT AMAZING GRACE YOU HAVE BESTOWED UPON ME, BECAUSE OF MY FAITH IN JESUS, YOU SAVED ME
I DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER OR HAVE A HORRIBLE DEATH TO FACE, WHILE I WAS YET A SINNER, ON THE CROSS JESUS TOOK MY PLACE
THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO, I COULD NOT PLEAD MY OWN CASE, BUT I’M CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES, I’M JUSTIFIED, WHAT AMAZING GRACE
I HAVE BEEN PROMISED A MANSION IN THAT HEAVENLY SPACE, TO LIVE ETERNALLY WITH JESUS… WHAT AMAZING GRACE
I DO NOT DESERVE THIS AWESOME GIFT; HUMILITY IS MY DWELLING PLACE BUT THANK YOU LORD FOR LOVING ME AND FOR YOUR SAVING GRACE.

Walking Worthy Reflection
Humility Is the Dwelling Place of Grace
Grace does not make us proud — it makes us humble. When we truly understand what Christ did on the cross in our place, the only response is gratitude and surrender. We were sinners with no case to plead, no righteousness of our own. Yet God, in His infinite mercy, cleared every charge against us and called us His own.
To walk in grace is to walk in the constant awareness that everything we have — salvation, forgiveness, eternal life, the promise of heaven — is a gift. Not a reward. A gift. And that gift changes how we live, how we love, and how we treat others.
Self-Examination
Sit With These Questions
Do you truly live as someone who has been justified — cleared of all charges — or do you still carry the weight of guilt and shame that Christ already bore? Are you extending to others the same grace that God has so freely given to you? Does humility mark your daily walk, or has familiarity with grace made it feel ordinary?
Read this poem aloud as your declaration today. You are saved. You are justified. You are promised eternity. Walk in that grace.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for taking my place. Thank You for the cross, for the blood You shed, and for the grace that cleared every charge against me. I did not deserve it. I could not earn it. But You gave it freely, and I receive it with a grateful and humble heart. Help me to walk each day in the fullness of Your grace — not taking it for granted, but living as one who has been truly saved, truly forgiven, and truly loved. May my life be a testimony of Your amazing grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
