My Walk in the Spirit of God

A Poem by Pamela D. Rodgers

August 10, 2026·3 min read·Pamela D. Rodgers

The Spirit of God is not a concept to be studied from a distance — He is a living presence to be walked in, prayed through, and declared over every area of your life. This poem is a bold, Spirit-filled declaration of what it means to live from the inside out.

When the Spirit of Almighty God dwells inside of you, sickness has no authority. Worry has no foothold. The world’s way of doing things has no claim on your walk. Read it. Declare it. Walk in it.

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

— Romans 8:11 (NKJV)

My Walk in the Spirit of God

I REFUSE TO ALLOW SICKNESS AND DISEASES TO OPERATE INSIDE OF ME, WHEN THE SPIRIT OF ALMIGHTY GOD DWELLS INSIDE OF ME.

I REFUSE TO ALLOW MYSELF TO WORRY ABOUT THIS, THAT AND THE OTHER, WHEN THE SPIRIT OF GOD HELPS ME PRAY TO THE FATHER IN THE NAME OF MY BROTHER.

GOD SENT HIS SPIRIT TO ME, TO TEACH ME, LEAD ME AND TRAIN ME UP AND WITH THE FRUITS OF HIS VERY OWN SPIRIT; MY GOD IS PRUNING ME UP.

NO, I WILL NOT WALK ACCORDING TO THIS WORLD’S RAG, WHEN MY GOD HAS ESTABLISHED AND EQUIPPED ME TO WALK WORTHY WITH SWAG

I HAVE YOUR TRUTH INSIDE OF ME WHICH GIVES ME THAT FREEDOM SPIRIT… I COMMAND EVERY FORM OF EVIL TO OBEY MY VOICE AND FEAR IT...

GREATER IS HE, WHO IS IN ME, THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD,

THANK YOU, ABBA FATHER FOR LOVING ME AND CALLING ME YOUR BABY GIRL!

Walking Worthy Reflection

Declare It Over Your Life

This poem is not just words on a page — it is a declaration. Every line is rooted in the truth of God’s Word. When you speak it, you are agreeing with what God has already said about you and the Spirit He has placed inside of you.

Greater is He who is in you. That is not a motivational phrase — it is Scripture (1 John 4:4). The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead has taken up residence in your body. That changes everything about how you face sickness, worry, temptation, and the pressures of this world.

Self-Examination

Sit With These Questions

Where in your life are you allowing sickness, fear, or worry to have more authority than the Spirit of God who lives inside of you? What would change if you truly walked as though Greater is He who is in you?

Read this poem aloud. Let it be your declaration today. Then go walk worthy — with SWAG.

Prayer

Abba Father, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit living inside of me. I refuse to allow sickness, worry, or the ways of this world to have dominion over what You have already conquered. I declare today that Greater is He who is in me. Teach me, lead me, prune me, and equip me to walk worthy — with SWAG — for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
