My Walk in the Glory of God
A Poem by Pamela D. Rodgers
We were not created for ourselves. We were created for Him — to be living epistles, walking testimonies of His beauty, His love, and His magnificent glory.
But too often, life crowds out the light. Guilt, shame, and worry wrap themselves around us until the glory that was meant to shine through us grows dim. This poem is a prayer and a declaration — a turning of the heart back toward the One whose story we were made to tell.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
— 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV)

My Walk in the Glory of God
GOD CREATED US FOR HIS GLORY, HIS LIVING EPISTLES TELLING HIS STORY
THAT MAN MIGHT SEE THE BEAUTY AND LOVE INSIDE OF US, AND CRY OUT TO HIM IN THE NAME OF JESUS
OFTEN TIMES OUR LIVES ARE SO WRAPPED UP IN GUILT, SHAME AND WORRY, THAT MAN CAN’T SEE GOD’S BEAUTY AND LOVE, GOD’S MAGNIFICENT GLORY
I PRAY THIS POINT GOING FORWARD THAT MY LIFE SHALL RADIATE WITH MY FATHER’S SHINE, BECAUSE HIS GRACE, LOVE, AND MERCY ARE ALL MINE.
I PRAY ALL THE DAY LONG MY LIFE WILL BE YOUR SONG, AND THE TITLE PAGE OF YOUR GLORIOUS STORY…. LIVED BY ME, BRINGS YOU GLORY.
I PRAY THAT MY STORY IS BLESSED FROM HEAVEN ABOVE, AND HAVE AN ELEGANT TITLE: “HIS BEAUTY, HIS LOVE.”
THANK YOU LORD FOR LOVING ME!

Walking Worthy Reflection
You Are the Title Page of His Story
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:2 that believers are “epistle… written in our hearts, known and read by all men.” Your life is a letter. Every person who encounters you is reading a page of God’s story. The question this poem asks is a searching one: what are they reading?
When guilt, shame, and worry consume us, the glory dims. Not because God’s glory has diminished — but because we have allowed the weight of this world to obscure the light He placed within us. Walking worthy means choosing, day by day, to lay those burdens down and let His radiance shine through.
The most beautiful title a life could carry is the one Pam prays for in this poem: “His Beauty, His Love.” That is the worthy walk. That is the glory of God made visible in a human life.
Self-Examination
Sit With These Questions
Is guilt, shame, or worry blocking the glory of God from shining through your life right now? When people encounter you this week — at home, at work, in your community — what story are they reading? Are you living as a letter that points others to Christ, or has the noise of life crowded out His light?
Read this poem aloud as your declaration today. Ask God to let your life radiate with His shine — to make your story a song, and the title page of His glorious story.
Prayer
Lord, You created me for Your glory. You wrote me into Your story before I drew my first breath. Forgive me for the times I have allowed guilt, shame, and worry to dim the light You placed within me. From this day forward, let my life radiate with Your shine. Let my words be Your song. Let my story be a title page that reads: His Beauty, His Love. May every person who encounters me be drawn not to me, but to You. Thank You, Lord, for loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
